William R. (Bill) Glattfelder died in Prescott November 2, 2013. He was born September 19, 1926 in Fairfield, Iowa to Homer and Florence Glattfelder. He was raised in a loving family of his parents, two sisters, and a brother. He served in the US Navy in WWII, then returned home to finish college in 1949. In March 1947 he married Dolores Collins in Fairfield. Bill taught school in Iowa, Chino Valley, Winslow, and Prescott, AZ. After he left teaching he worked in the Men's Department at Solt's Clothing Store until retirement. He was an active member of Prescott Community Church. Much of his retirement time was spent as a volunteer at the Yavapai Federal Credit Union for thirty years, Prescott Litter Lifters, Arizona Cowboy Poets Gathering, and Prescott Community Cupboard. Bill enjoyed times traveling with Dolores in their RV, many good family times, working out at the YMCA, making friends and keeping his home and property in excellent shape. He is survived by his wife, Dolores of 66 years, daughter Kathy Benham (Mike), sons Scott(Joy), Randy (Charlotte), and Mitch (Rhonda); grandsons Chad, Coby, Matt, and Dan; and great-grandsons Brice and Karson.
