William Joseph Jones

William Joseph Jones died June 17, 2009 in Prescott, Arizona. He was born October 5, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana: the son of Calvin and Clara Jones, William was 86 year old.   William graduated from the University of Portland, after serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. In served in a patrol craft and saw combat action at Iwo Jima, Okinawa and the East China Sea earning 3 Battle Stars and the occupation of Japan.   He married the love of his life 61 years ago; June 19, 1948, Dee Maxine. He retired from First Interstate Bank in Lake Oswego, Oregon in 1982. He was active in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, President of the National Board of American Association of Insurance Management and President and 20 year member of the Oregon Estate Planning Council and served on the Salvation Army Advisory Board.  After his retirement his hobby was being an fair weather golfer, and serving on the Lake Oswego Golf Course Advisory Committee.   He is survived by his wife, Maxine and daughters; Susan (Larry) Shorb and Catherine (Steve) Olsen.
