William Haran, born Aug. 27, 1936, passed to his eternal reward on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at about 4 p.m. at Trillium Hospital in Sun City, Ariz. Born in county Sligo, Ireland, he came to the U.S. when he was about 23 years old.
What he loved best about this country was the number of beautiful golf courses. Golf was his passion. He loved talking to people, and to him, no one was a stranger. He retired from his position as a federal probation and parole officer, then worked as a private investigator for several years.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Therese. They spent these years together living in Huntington Beach, Yucca Valley and La Cresta, Calif. He lived his last five years here in Prescott, Ariz. He loved working out at 24-Hour Fitness and playing golf at Antelope Hills golf Course. He leaves four brothers and three sisters in Ireland and England.
Bill\'s services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 2062 N. State Route 89, Chino Valley.
