Wilfred F. ?Will? Martinez, 81, died Thursday, March 10, 2005 at the Ft. Whipple V.A. Medical Center Hospice Ward in Prescott, Arizona. He was born September 30, 1923 in Los Angeles, California, the son of David and Feliciana (Belle) Martinez. Will served his country during World War II in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged February  12, 1946. Will was a member of Scared Heart Catholic Church, he was a body building enthusiast who enjoyed music. Will was considered a master craftsman and an artist/sculptor. He was proud of his service to his country, his God, family and mostly his dog, Banjo. Will is survived by his loving and caring wife of 18 years; Betty Ann. His children and their spouses, Brian Martinez of Prescott, Caroylyn Martinez of Canyon Country, CA, Shawn and Susan Martinez of Prescott, Estelle and Ray Kobayashi of Oxnard, CA, Michelle Arnold of Fountain Hills, AZ, Bruce and Brenda Martinez of Prescott, Anita and Todd Tate of Scottsdale, AZ and Gary and Anne Martinez of Northridge, CA. He is also survived by step-children; Dan, David and Darrell Kline and Diana Littlejohn. Brother, Dan Martinez of Sylmar, CA as well as 27 grandchildren. Will was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; David Martinez, sisters; Violet Molidor and Esteele Murphy. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home corner of Cortez and Carleton Streets in Prescott. A Scripture Rosary will be recited Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home with Deacon Tony Humphrey presiding. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2005, 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 150 Flury, Prescott, AZ with Rev. Daryl Olds, C.M.F. presiding. Burial will follow with full military honors at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at 2:00 p.m. The family suggest contributions be made in Will?s name to the Northern Arizona Alzheimer?s Association, 225 Grove Ave., Prescott, AZ 86301.
