Wayne Picard

Wayne Picard died August 25,2011 at the Marley House- Hospice Unit, in Prescott, Arizona, He was born March 29, 1923 in Williston, North Dakota; the son of A.D. and Annie (Reynolds) Picard. Wayne was 88 years old.
Wayne married the love of his life, Patricia on April 12, 1944 and for the next 67 years they shared their love. They raised 4 sons and 3 daughters while Wayne grew wheat, breeding cattle and horses on their farm/ranch in Bainville, Montana. The children where active in 4H, FAA and AI programs. Wayne loved his horses from the draft team he in used in the winter months to take feed to the cattle to his trail horses. One of Pauls fondest memories is when he and Wayne took part in Montanas Centennial Trail Ride from Roundup to Billings. Wayne drove the team and Paul was an out rider. Wayne had four steers in the drive that where branded with the special 89Montana brand. A hide was given to each one of the boys. He loved his gardening and he kept his family, friends and half town in home grown produce; especially tomatoes. In later years especially at Granite Gate Resort he enjoyed being active; singing in the Singsters, playing cards and games. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Wayne is survived by his beloved Patti; sons. Paul (JoAnn), Ernie (Janice) and Joseph (Lorrie); daughters; Beverly Vannatta, Theresa Picard and Aggie (Setha Burns) Picard.; grandchildren; Justin, Jody, Allison Andrea, Mike, Mara, JC, Sharice, Jassen, Vannesa, Joely, Aubrey, and Corey; great grandchildren Brittney, Courtney , Samantha, , Morgan, Maya, Molly, Jacob, Townsend , Tyler, Dylan, Taylor, Aaron Eljah, Elise and Ethan. His sister Audrey and sister-in-law Enid also survived him. Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Michael, sister May and brother, Eldon.
