Warren L. Seiz

Warren Seiz’s story began on August 5, 1951 in Springfield, Illinois. He was very proud to say that he was born on Route 66. Warren was the third child born to Edgar and Lillian (Bliesner) Seiz. In his childhood, Warren’s family relocated to Lake of the Ozarks where he attended School of the Osage. Afterwards, the family moved to Sedalia, Missouri, where Warren graduated from Smith Cotton High School’s Class of 1970.

Following in the footsteps of Harold, his older brother and partner in crime, Warren joined the United States Marine Corps. He retired from the Reserves in 2004. Warren was proud to serve his country and enjoyed the bond he shared with his fellow Marines.

In 1989, Warren graduated from Mid America College of Funeral Service in Louisville, Kentucky. As a funeral director in both Missouri and Arizona, he had the privilege to serve grieving families until his retirement in 2014. Throughout his career, he worked at McLaughlin Funeral Home, A.L. Moore Grimshaw, Sunland Memorial and Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary.

Warren’s greatest passion was tinkering with his classic cars. He could often be found at car shows, where he enjoyed sharing his passion, especially with his younger brother, Trent. Warren’s vehicles were often featured in classic car magazines. His final dream car was named after his treasured sister-in-law, Colette, whom he nicknamed “Rosie.” He loved going on road trips, sitting with friends by their classic cars, and reminiscing, particularly with his older sister, Andy, about the good old days. He will be forever in the memories of his three nieces, two nephews, a great-niece and a great-nephew.

He was most proud of his beloved daughter, Julie. They loved attending the Royals spring training games, watching Jeopardy!, and belting out Jimmy Buffett songs. He was very proud of her teaching career and would often volunteer to chaperone her students’ field trips. Warren taught Julie how to be a fighter as they both fought their own battle of cancer together.

Warren’s final chapter was written on April 6, 2018. After fighting a long, hard battle with cancer, he peacefully passed with his daughter and younger sister, Nancee, by his side. His slice of Heaven will be an endless road trip under the sun on Route 66. Alongside him will be his parents, grandparents, cherished aunts and brother-in-law. There’s no doubt he’s bragging to them about leaving this earth at the age of 66. Funeral Services will be held Saturday April 14th at 2:00pm at Sunland Memorial Park, 15826 N. Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ. 85351.  Visitation will be from 1-2pm Prior to the Service.  Interment will be Monday April 17th at 10:30a.m.  at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ. 85024

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a scholarship fund for St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in honor of Warren L. Seiz. And as Warren would end all his stories, “Bing, bang, boom.”
