Often riding or walking, she would stay with friends when the weather got bad. Living through the Depression often meant that they had little in the way of luxuries. Vivian remembers her mother and father playing and dancing to western music to liven up the times. Vivian met her future husband Joe when she was in th g" grade. She said she fell in love with him the minute she saw him and they were married in 1942.. Living in New Mexico with her family, Vivian was a homemaker while her husband Joe worked in th Uranium industry. Being an only child, Vivian also worked to care for her parents while they continue to ranch and eventually retire. Upon his retirement, Joe and Vivian cut turquoise stones to be sold to t Indians for jewelry. They both enjoyed spending time with their family and camping. One of the most important things to Vivian was her Christian values and she is most proud of raising her children in a Christian home.
