Violet Helen Pieper, 75, died October 24, 2010 in Prescott, AZ. She was born March 8, 1935, in Chicago, Ill, one of nine children to William and Mary Szczesny. Violet held many jobs over the years as she worked hard to raise her three daughters as a single parent. She enjoyed reading a good book, keeping up with and discussing current events, and helping her children however she could. Violet loved listening to classical music, particularly the Three Tenors. She was a devoted flower gardener, both at her home and as a volunteer for Sacred Heart Church. Violet left a rich legacy of Christian faith for her family that will carry down through the generations.
Violet is survived by her three daughters; Melanie (Rick) Giardini, Melissa Monahan-Joyce, and Monica (Brad) Kaplan all of Prescott, AZ; brother, Dan Szczesny; and many nieces and nephews. Survivors also include her beloved grandchildren; Merideth, Daniel, Tara, Ryan, Rachel, Lexie, and Trevor; and two great-grandchildren, Miles and Adyline. She also leaves behind her best friend, Mona Ziem.
