Victor James “Sonny” Hughes, 68, of Ash Fork, AZ died suddenly at home on May 25, 2013 surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Phoenix, AZ on May 28, 1944 to Victor & Irene (Thompson) Hughes. He is survived by his former wife Nancy K. Hughes of Paulden, AZ; two daughters Stephanie Hughes of Mesa, AZ and Laura Hughes-Stiverson of Prescott Valley, AZ; four grandchildren Chastity Hughes and Mark Hughes of Mesa, AZ and Brittni Hughes and Killian Stiverson of Prescott Valley, AZ; two sisters Marcella Jo Lawlor of Phoenix, AZ and Vicki Causey of Jacksonville, FL; and brother Robert Findley of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews in Williams and Phoenix, AZ and Jacksonville, FL. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Phyllis Morales of Phoenix, AZ and Linda Pettit of Williams, AZ. Over the years, he owned and operated Moonlight Trucking of Marlow, OK and Paulden, AZ and Moonlight Emu Farm and Sonny’s Bar, both of Marlow, OK. Sonny was also the president and founder of the Oklahoma Emu Association.
