Valentine Joseph Hatheway

Val graduated from Murray Grammar School in Dublin, California in 1933.  He attended Amador High in Pleasanton, California and graduated high school in 1937.  Val then attended Marin Jr. College, University Cal Davis, Navy Postgraduate School in Monterey, California and Navy Intelligence School in Washington, DC.  He married Sylvia Ridley July of 1951. Val served his country as a Naval Officer and Aviator for twenty-seven years.  He retired as a Commander on July 1, 1968.  Val then worked for thirteen years as a Loss Control Consultant for California Casualty Company.  He retired from there on April 1, 1982. Val was a volunteer for; Board of Director of the Dublin Heritage Cemetery for fourteen years and President for eight years, Children Emergency Council for twelve years, V.A. Hospital for three years and Advisor of the Dublin Senior Center. Val was a member of both the Elks and Lions club.  He was a resident of Dublin, California since 1927.   Val is also survived by his brothers; Francis & Evelyn Hatheway of Oakland, California and Gerald & Betty Hatheway of Hayward, California.
