Thomas Edmond Horne

We are saddened to announce the passing of Thomas Edmond Horne (90),

who passed away on December 12, 2023. Thomas (Tom) has resided in

Prescott, Arizona since 2000. He passed away in his home, surrounded by

family and friends.

Tom was born on April 18, 1933 in New Carlisle, Ohio, and grew up on his

parents' 30 acre farm in Tipp City. After graduating from Tipp City High

School in 1951, Tom entered the United States Air Force in 1952.

He was part of the 22nd Bomb Wing in Strategic Air Command, and

maintained aircrafts such as B-52s and KC-97s.

Upon his honorable discharge from service, Tom married his wife Elaine in

1957 and settled in Canoga Park, California. They raised two children there

and he began a lengthy career as an engineer in the Aerospace industry.

Following his lifelong passion for classic cars, he eventually started his own

business in 1980, and became a well-known reproducer of Mustang car

parts.

Throughout their 66-year marriage Tom and Elaine traveled the country,

collecting and selling an impressive array of Victorian antiques.

Upon retiring in Prescott they finally found their dream home in which to

display their treasured collection.

Tom had a very charismatic personality. He thoroughly enjoyed joking

around and sharing his favorite quotes with family and friends. He

especially loved being a grandfather and great-grandfather. Tom had many

hobbies and interests over the years. He loved fishing with family at

Steamboat Springs Lake, Colorado. Most days in retirement Tom could be

found in his beloved garage restoring classic Ford Mustangs and

Studebakers. He was a skilled craftsman who could do anything from

building an engine to sewing custom upholstery. He also enjoyed creating

welded metal sculptures out of found objects and scrap metal.
