Terry was born on April 24th, 1947, in Portland, Oregon to Levon “Budd” Batt and Doris J. Batt. Soon after his birth the family moved to Kansas. Terry graduated from Hutchison High School in Kansas where he was also a bugler of the Sky-Ryders Drum and Bugle Corps. Terry was touched by the Lord with his Episcopalian Faith. He was called to service with the U.S. Airforce in 1966 & honorably discharged in 1968. He worked in the Egress Unit on the ejection seats of the fighter jets.

Terry, surrounded by family, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 22nd, 2021, which was also his and wife Kim’s 16th Wedding Anniversary, after a long battle with COPD. Terry was very loving, caring, funny and talented. When he loved it was with his whole heart. He was a jack of all trades, had his own auto business “Ace Performance”, did Engineering, was certified with “Rangs Automotive”, was a licensed insurance agent, avid golfer, etc. He mastered anything he wanted to do. He also loved racing cars, his first was a 1971 SS Chevy Cheville 454 Block which, he converted to a 5/2 Block named “Black Magic”, she was his baby. He also built and raced a top alcohol fuel car. Later in life he loved his horses and John Deer Tractor.

Terry is survived by his loving wife Kimberly Cooley, son Steven M. (Julie) Batt, stepmother Sheron (Ron) Lowry, Step-brothers Shawn (Sheryl) Batt, Mackenzie (David) Snyder, Jay Rouns , aunts, uncles, and cousins, Step granddaughter Asley (Ryan) Gearhart, Step-great grandchildren Addison Gearhart, and Harper Gearhart. Stepdaughter Donna Durham adopted sister and brother Dina (Ron) Kozar.

Terry is preceded in death by daughter Traci Rouns, Mother Doris Batt-Engel, father Levon Batt, Grand Parents George and Mable Batt, Sam and Ruth Batt, aunts, uncles, cousins, horses, dogs, and pets.

Terry will be interred in Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City, Kansas at a later date.

A celebration of Terry’s life will be held on November 13, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Goldwater Lake Park, 2875 S. Goldwater Lake Blvd, in Prescott, AZ in the Original Ramada.
