On Thursday, March 9, 2023, Terrance Warren Manuel, 67, passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was born on November 12, 1955, in Prescott, AZ. Terry was the oldest of four brothers. His parents were Lorraine C. and Leon B. Manuel Sr.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother Toby Manuel. He is survived by his wife Lenora Jones, daughter Rhonda Manuel (Jason) of Camp Verde, Spring Jones (Mary) of Prescott, younger brothers Leon Jr. of Sacaton and Cecil (Francine) of Tucson. In-Laws Kathy Jones and Janet Jones both of Prescott, and many grandchildren and a great, great-granddaughter. Additional survivors include many nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, and grandnieces.
Terry attended most of his schooling in Prescott. He graduated in 1974 from Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, California and continued his schooling at Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence, Kansas. Terry participated in football, wrestling, and baseball throughout his time in junior high, high school and college. He received the MVP award in football at Sherman even though he played only half of the season due to breaking his leg during a game.
Mr. Manuel entered the U.S. Army serving in the 1st Infantry Division and participated overseas in Operation Desert Storm. Aside from Prescott he also resided in Phoenix, AZ , Fallon NV, Culver City, CA and Sacaton, AZ .
Terry was a down to earth type of person who enjoyed playing sports, watching sports, fishing, attending pow-wows, meeting ex-service people, and loved to cook and watch everyone enjoy his food, especially during the holidays. He enjoyed the outdoors walking his dog and playing with the cats, in the winter he would make snow bears instead of snowmen. He was a simple man, who is going to be missed by many that knew and loved him.
