My Obituary
By Suzanne Schlegel Cuccinello
October 31, 1939 – January 28, 2021

It pains me to admit it, but apparently I have passed away. I heard it might happen one day, but it was not something I wanted to hear or experience. Who knew?? (These words have been used before, but I love the humor).

I was born October 31, 1939 to two wonderful parents, Herbert and Valdah V. (McLain) Schlegel in White Plains, New York. I grew up on a farm in Greenville, New York-second child of five. After graduating from high school, I started working for a large corporation where I had an opportunity to leave a tiny footprint.

Upon retirement , my husband John and I moved to Prescott, AZ where we built a home, travelled out West with our RV, but mostly spent time making “lemonade” out of the “health issues” my husband was dealt!!! During that stage of life, we were lucky to meet and become very involved in a local transplant organization spreading the words: “Don’t take your organs to heaven – heaven knows they are needed here.” While you are at it, take my advice and don’t smoke either!

A private scattering of my ashes, along with my husband John’s will be held sometime in the future back in New York. To our family and friends, don’t weep for us; we tried to stay in your lives for as long as we could!
