Sandra J Tarro , 62, lost her second battle with cancer December 8, 2008, despite the fact she and her doctors waged a courageous fight beginning in January of this year. Her first encounter with this deadly disease occurred almost twenty years ago at which time she was able to overcome it. Sandy was born July 22, 1946 in San Francisco to Vivian and Eugene Bosch. She moved to Prescott in 2000 with her husband, John, to begin enjoying retirement. Sandy was well known to local animal welfare organizations having been an active volunteer for the Yavapai Humane Society and most recently serving as secretary and board member for Miss Kitty?s Cat House. Prior to moving to Prescott from Washington State, Sandy also undertook a variety of volunteer positions with the Seattle King County Humane Society. In addition to her husband, Sandy is survived by her son, Michael Tarro, and her granddaughter, Ashlee, both of Auburn, Washington. Her mother and step-father, Vivian and Andy Pappas of Pacifica, California, also survive her. A memorial service to celebrate Sandy's life of caring compassion will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at Unity Church of Prescott in Prescott. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Sandy's memory to the organization listed under Memorial Contributions.
