Robert Scott Oberlender, more commonly known as Scott, age 72, went home peacefully to be with his savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, November 1, 2023.
Scott was born on October 28,1951, to Robert and Charlotte (Graves) Oberlender. Scott spent his childhood years in Casper, Wyoming, before joining the Army. After his army service, Scott worked in the telecommunications industry where he helped usher in the cell phone era by engineering cell phone systems in California and abroad. Scott met his ex-wife and mother of his daughter, Yvonne Oberlender, during this time.
Scott fell in love with Jesus and worked as an associate pastor for Cross Current Church in Virginia. He also began Michael’s Marauders, a motorcycle ministry to the marginalized in Virginia, whose motto was “Plundering the gates of hell to free the captives.” Scott retired to Prescott in 2015 where he served his Prescott Canyon Bible Church family faithfully for many years.
Scott is survived by his daughter, Victoria Wyatt; granddaughter, Tiana Sabo; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Colleen Oberlender; and niece, Marjorie Oberlender.
Scott was preceded in death by his beloved parents.
