Dr. Robert A. “Bob” Palmer was born in St. Augustine, Florida on May 20, 1948, to Elizabeth J. Taylor Palmer, being raised by his mother and grandmother, Ellen B. Taylor. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Christine Palmer; his brothers, Charles Palmer and David Cuerdon; his nephews Charles Jr., Brandon, Michael, Jonathon, Joshua, Ian and Lucas, and his niece, Ava. Bob and his brother Charles moved to the Phoenix area from Morristown, New Jersey in the spring of 1958. Growing up in Sunnyslope, Bob attended Desert View Elementary School and Sunnyslope High School. A Boy Scout, avid photographer and sportsman, Bob began traveling around and photographing Arizona from the time he was old enough to drive. He loved Arizona history and loved telling stories and showing photos of his travels. Bob taught his brother Charles how to shoot guns, fish and would often take his brother on outings with him. He married his wife Christine “Chris” in 1974. They moved to Prescott, Arizona in 1980, and opened a private investigation agency, called Palmer Investigative Services. Bob had a Ph.D. in criminal justice, and a master's degree in forensic and criminal psychology. He was a member of many professional organizations, and a past president of several of them, such as the Arizona Association of Licensed Private Investigators, Arizona Process Servers Association, National Legal Aid Defenders Association, the National Alliance of Sentencing Advocates and Mitigation Specialists, The American college of Forensic Examiners, National Association of Legal Investigators and World Association of Detectives, National Association of Professional Process Servers, and the Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association. He was also a Fellow of the American Board of Forensic Examiners and a Diplomate of the American Board of Law Enforcement Experts. Bob became ordained as a Catholic Deacon in November of 2006, in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix. He was very dedicated to his parishioners and the community. His ministry work included jail and prison ministry, hospital chaplain, teaching, spiritual counseling, liturgy services and assisting at mass. His philosophy was one of compassion for those least served by our society. Bob was a wonderful individual, who was loved dearly and who will be greatly missed by all his family and friends, and all those that he came in contact with.
