Our loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather Robert M. (Bob) Dempster passed into heaven on Christmas Eve morning. Bob is survived by his wife Judie of 47 years and sons Kevin Dempster, Yucaipa, CA., Kurt (Anna) Dempster, La Quinta, CA, and daughter Kathi (Jim) Dwyer, Phoenix, AZ.His parents Milas and Genola Dempster and his sister Arlena Judd preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother Larry (Carol) Dempster of Benson, AZ and Charlotte (Brad) Smith of Tucson, AZ.
Bob was born in Cape Girardeau, MO on April 23, 1936 and moved to Benson, AZ where he attended Benson High School. His avid athletic abilities in football and basketball were achieved at Eastern Arizona Jr. College and he continued with baseball at the U of A. Upon graduation at the U of A with a BA in 1959, he joined the Air Force and National Air Guard Reserves. In 1960 he began his employment with Chevron U.S.A. in Marketing where he devoted 35 years for the company. In 1990 they were transferred to Prescott, AZ where he was a Fuel and Lube Engineer for Chevrons Western Mining Operations. He retired in 1995.
Bob and Judie were married in 1964 and soon after they relocated to Yorba Linda, CA where he was active in his sons sports and daughters activities. He managed their Little League teams with great success as he led the Pirates and Yorba Linda All Star teams to many District, Divisional, Sectional and State Tournaments. He also supported his daughter Kathi in many of her dancing, cheerleading and modeling activities.
He continued his love of sports while volunteering with the City of Prescott Senior Olympics and Mens Fast Pitch Softball tournaments. He was a Marshall at Antelope Hills Golf Course and also enjoyed his regular weekly foursome. He participated in many Father/Son Golf Tournaments. His love of horseshoes was apparent, as he was an active member in NAHP tournaments. His love of sports continued through the very end.
His grandchildren gave him great joy. Hailey, Dylan, and Kole Dempster, and twins Lauren and Brooke Dwyer surrounded him with love. Our faith in the Lord sparks a newness of comfort in knowing that his Spirits will surround us forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arizona Softball Hall of Fame Foundation, 3818 E. St. Catherine Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85042, which is loacted at the Prescott Armory in Prescott, Arizona.
Service:
A memorial service for Bob will take place at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15th, 2012 at the American Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1085 Scott Drive in Prescott.
