Robert Francis Charlton

Robert passed from this life surrounded by his loving family. He was a proud 20 year Marine veteran.  After military retirement in 1977 he moved to Prescott, AZ, where he became switchboard operator/supervisor at the VA Medical Center, retired from the VA after 20 years.  He has worked at Walmart for the past 11 years, up until his short illness that took his life.He was one of 11 children born to James and Marion Charlton in Weymouth, Mass. and raised in Concord, NH.  He and his first wife Sharon had 3 children.  He met and married his wife Susan in 1979 and became stepfather to 3 children.He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Marion Charlton, siblings Charlie, Joyce and Linda, and daughter Melynda.He is survived by his wife Susan and former wife Sharon, his children Robert Charlton (Debra), Theresa McGlothlin, stepchildren Della Hagestad, J.C. Hagestad (Deirdre),Peggy Wilmot (Mike), 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, siblings (all on the East coast) William Charlton, George Charlton, Skippy Charlton, James Charlton, Kenny Charlton, Lois Chase and Carol Greenlaw.There will be no services.In lieu of flowers make any donations to Marley House (hospice), Prescott, AZ.
