Robert Bradford ?Brad? King, passed away November 14th, 2006 at his home in Prescott Valley, surrounded by his loving family after a short but valiant battle with cancer. Brad was born August 7th, 1946 in El Paso, Texas. He was the only child of Jack Le Roy King and Doris J. (Miller) King. He spent his childhood and teenage years in Carlsbad, New Mexico, where he began a long involvement with Scouting and a life long interest in helping to preserve and perpetuate Native American Song, Costuming and Dance. He loved to attend Pow Wow?s, and to perform in them when permitted even more. After graduating from High School in El Paso, he moved to Phoenix in 1966 and attended Phoenix Community College and later transferred to ASU. In 1969 he graduated with a degree in Native American Anthropology. He continued his work in Scouting and helped to establish Explorer Post # 522 ?.where the ?TALAKO Dance Team ?was formed. Many ?Blue and Gold? Banquets where entertained by the Dance Team. In February 1973 he married the love of his life, Linda S Cross. They built a wonderful life together with more joy being added with the birth of their sons, Skye and Brian. In 1977 the family moved to Tucson , where Brad started a very respected career in Retail Furniture Management and Merchandising . He worked for Barrow?s and Dorson?s Furniture for many years. In 2000 he and Linda moved to the Prescott area where Brad became the General Manager of Joe?s Furniture. It was his dream job! Brad had a life long love of the outdoors. He was ever in awe at the work of Mother Nature and Mother Earth, which he loved to photograph or just sit and absorb the beauty around him. ?Life is not measured by the amount of breathes you take, But by the moments that take our breath away? Brad was pre deceased by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Linda and sons Christopher Skye and his wife Christna and Brian Jeffery King all of Tucson. The family deeply appreciates the support of his friends and extended family, the help of Dr. KM Haque, Yavapai Hospice and Walkin Family Funeral Home. There will be a Gathering of Brad?s life in Tucson at the Agua Caliente Park, 1:30 p.m. on December 1, 2006.  Lance LaFata will be officiating.
