Rita L. Pomroy

Rita Louise Pomroy went home to be with the Lord at the age of 90, on December 20th 2014. She was born on September 15th 1924 in Jackson, Mt. to Orville and Patricia Shadduck. She spent most of her childhood growing up in Cour De Lane, Idaho on the Shadduck farm. She met the love of her life Eugene Pomroy in Spokane, Wa. She followed him across the country to Dexter, Maine where she lived with Eugene’s parents until he returned from the war. On, April 15th 1946 at Saint Anne Catholic church in Dexter, Maine they were married. Rita and Eugene moved to Prescott, Arizona with their three daughters and Eugene’s mother in May 1960, where she remained the rest of her life. She was blessed with two more children after their move to Prescott. Rita fostered many children in the 1960’s and was active with the Pop Warner youth football league. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She welcomed all into her home and loved all who entered. Rita enjoyed her birds and Koi fish, she also enjoyed taking care of her orchids. Rita is survived by her five children Faith Bigelow, Hope Hewitt, Charity Merkley, Eugene Pomroy, and Patience Owens, her 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Pomroy, parents Orville Shadduck and Patrica Mckean, her three brothers, one sister, and her great granddaughter Adele Grace Owens.
