Richard Jacob Maurer

Richard Jacob Maurer passed away August 24, 2021.  He was born on April 30, 1935 in Yugoslavia to Jacob and Helen Maurer.

Richard is survived by his daughters Marlene (Michael) Rollins of Hawley, PA and Monica (Kenneth) Miraglia of Valley Stream, NY, grandchildren Sivonne, Dylan, and Katherine, and a brother Gary Maurer of Westbury, NY. 

Richard was a very dedicated volunteer to Sharlot Hall Museum for 25 years.  He was also a faithful member of the Granite Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation.   

Richard enjoyed woodworking and was a talented painter of still life and landscapes and he was an avid fisherman as well.   He liked to garden and collect all different kinds of rocks.  Richard could be counted on to attend many cultural events in the Prescott area as well.Richard was very proud of his loving family, his rich German-Hungarian heritage and his adopted country the USA.

In Lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Richard’s name to Department of Veteran’s Affairs or Yavapai County Food Bank in Prescott Valley.
