Richard "Dick" Collis Jones Richard C. Jones, 88, died March 31, 2016 at his home in Prescott Valley, Arizona. He was born in Phillipsburg, Pennsylvania on March 15, 1928 to William and Esther Jones. His family moved early on to Warren, Ohio where he was raised along with his four sisters, Ruth, Margaret, Lucille and Rachel all who preceded him in death .A graduate of Ball State University, he studied political science and history. Active in sports, especially football and baseball. Richard served in the Army Air Corp toward the end of World War II. In his early career he worked as crane operator in the steel mills in and around his hometown. Active in local politics he was involved in public sanitation issues which led to his relocation to Michigan where he helped establish the private sanitation company Kal-San. After a time with the Chamber of Commerce he joined the newly forming National Federation of Independent Businessmen. He became a staunch supporter of the independent small business that has been so integral to the development of this nation Moving the family to Phoenix he continued working in auto sales. Active in the Baptist church he was also involved in fundraising for Grand Canyon College .As a partner of the brokerage firm L. G. Victors Gold he was involved in the underwriting of some 30 stock offerings. One of the founders of Tombstone Mineral Reserves, a mining company, he was involved in the restructuring that would be renamed Alanco Ltd. Later the company entered into a joint venture with Newbery Energy on an air pollution control system known as Eco-Tech. Mr. Jones would promote this technology throughout the U.S. and abroad. This led to extensive travel to Pacific rim countries especially Korea and China.After retiring to Prescott Valley he was able to pursue his passion, GOLF. He passed this sport on to three generations of boys in the family. He was still able to play some golf even in his last year. Richard was a loving husband and father, kind and generous and is survived by his wife, Anna Marie; Children, Denise Renee Cooke, Richard William, Kevin Lee and Vicky Lynn Winham; 8 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren .He was preceded in death by his first wife Keva K. and son, Frank John .Funeral services will held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 7 at Maryvale Baptist Church, with a viewing from 9:00 to 9:45 at the church, 5702 N. 35th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85017. Interment will be in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ graveside service scheduled for 12:30 PM.Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel in Prescott Valley, AZ is handling the arrangements. The family is recommending that in lieu of flowers a donation to the American Cancer Society would be welcomed. Condolences may be sent to www.wakelinbradshaw.com.
