Richard Christopher Demauro

Richard DeMauro, 81, of Prescott, Arizona passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24, after a valiant battle with brain cancer. Richard was predeceased by his father Anthony DeMauro, Mother Gloria DeMauro, wife Michelle DeMauro, and son Dominic DeMauro. Richard is survived by his daughter Devin DeMauro, brothers Tony, David, and Steven, as well as 11 grandchildren and great grandchildren. The loss of his son, Dominic, affected Richard throughout his life.

Richard was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and moved to Ontario, CA in 1957 where he graduated from Chaffey High School in 1960. He attended Chaffey College where he met Michele Thomas of 29 Palms, CA. They married and had two children, Devin, and Dominic.

Richard pursued several careers beginning at Longs Drug Store as a Department Manager, Antimite Pest Control as an Inspector, and owned Mighty Mite Termite and Pest Control in Upland, CA. He later pursued real estate sales in Sedona, AZ, Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Prescott, AZ.

Golfing was a favorite pastime of Richard. He played at Chaffey High School and Chaffey College. He learned the game by caddying for talented players in the Ontario. CA area. Humor was an essential part of his life. He could always be counted upon for telling Italian jokes and mimicking Italian gangsters. It was his way of demonstrating his pride of being of full Italian descent.

Richard’s greatest pride was his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He could always be depended upon for sound advice and assistance. Affectionately known as, “Papa,” Richard was well respected, admired, and cherished by all eleven of them.
