Phyllis passed away September 16, 2011 at her home in Chino Valley. She was 81.
She was born December 10, 1929 in Sapulpa, OK to Emile and Evelyn (Atterberry) Kuhn. She and her family moved to Weston, W. VA in 1934 where she attended St. Patricks Grade School. The family then moved to Morgantown W. VA where she finished her schooling, graduating with honors from Morgantown High School in 1947.
In 1950 she married her high school sweetheart, Harold Vandervort. They became the parents of eight beautiful children.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Cheryl Ann, a son Mark, and a brother, Paul.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Harold, sons Daniel, Terry (Christy), Philip (Brandy), daughters Nancy, Marilyn Morano (David) all of the Prescott area, Mary Ann Brinkerhoff (Tom) of St. George, Utah and one brother, Tom Kuhn (Carma) of Orlando, FL; Grandchildren Ashley, Rachel, Samantha, Luke, Kayla, Jenna, Nathaniel, and Matthew; and Great-Grandchildren Evelyn and Jamie.
Phyllis suffered most of her life from the crippling pains of rheumatoid arthritis, but never did she complain. Her greatest passions and joys were in raising her children, sewing, and filling the house with the delicious aroma of her freshly baked bread.
Phyllis was a faithful and devout member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 5-6 PM at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church with Rosary to follow.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, September 23, 2011 at 11 AM with reception to follow.
Internment at Chino Valley Cemetary.
