Phyllis Watts Reaney, 92, of Prescott Valley AZ passed away Friday January 6, 2023 at her home. She was a Las Vegas NV resident for over 40 years. She was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church as an ordained elder and her gift was her beautiful voice. She was a lyrical soprano and the prominent soloist with the LV Musical Arts Society, Ed Brahams Chorale, UNLV Concert Assoc and numerous others. She was on the ground floor of the first local community theater group -Theater Arts Society Inc. (TASI). Her accomplishments included being the musical director, the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland and Kate from Kiss Me Kate. She was also a member of the UNLV Symphony Orchestra. She was very talented with the Baritone horn, Trumpet and Piano and had a great love of animals. Phyllis was born on June 19, 1930, in Colton Ohio to the late Rev. Leslie C Watts and Nettie B Watts. She was the youngest of 6 siblings: Janis W Sunsvold, Loris W Newsom, Charlene Meyer, Richard G Watts and Marilyn W Williams. She is survived by her husband of 46 years Robert R Reaney Sr, daughters Nancy D Myers and Joyce Y Deyo and her daughter in law Shannon Deyo. She was predeceased by her son Paul M Deyo. She has 3 stepchildren Laura Lee Reaney and her husband Robin Haywood, Robert R Reaney Jr and his wife Sue Reaney and Byron B Reaney. She has 7 grandchildren including Bryan C Rose and Heidi Myers. She was FIFI to all of them. She has 2 great grandchildren who also knew her as Great Fifi. She was dearly loved by her family including her Shih Tzus Annie and Tootsie. She was once told that when she sang that her voice was so beautiful, the angels were mute. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your local Humane Society.
