Phyllis J. Gonya

Phyllis J. Gonya died early Sunday morning, September 9, 2012 at Yavapai Regional Medical Center, in Prescott. She was born August 30, 1936 in Dunkirk, New York, the daughter of Edward and Harriet (Wisniewski) Polcyn. Phyllis was 76 years old. Phyllis and Harland moved to Prescott 11 years ago from New York. Phyllis was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a member of the Red Hats, loved playing Bunko with the girls and always enjoyed gardening and reading. She also served as a docent for Sharlot Hall Museum. She loved spending time with her family and was best known for her amazing smile. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Harland; daughter Nance (Lorenzo) Donati, of San Francisco; son Mark (Trisha) of Denver; sister Virginia (James) Brown of North Carolina; and two grandsons Alessandro and Max. Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 with visitation one hour prior at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home 303 S. Cortez. A Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury. Final Commendation and Farewell will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 14, at Heritage Memorial Park, Fain Rd. Dewey, Arizona. The family suggests memorials to: Highland Center for Natural History, 1375 S. Walker Rd. Prescott, AZ 86303
