Phillip Martin KottSeptember 25, 1949 - August 9, 2021 Phillip Martin Kott  [Phill], age 71, passed away suddenly in Prescott, Arizona, on August 9, 2021. He was born and lived in the Marquette Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, on September 25, 1949, to George and Dolores Kott. Phill is survived by his two daughters, Kristin Silver (Christopher) of Lombard, IL, and Melissa Neese (Pete) of Prescott Valley, AZ, and step-son, Ananta Morales of San Diego, CA. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Judy Volkmann Barkow of Colorado, and three grandchildren—Amber Jerome, Camryn Jerome, and Austin Silver. Phill was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dolores Kott of Bloomington, IN. Phill was a generous, loving and proud father and grandfather to his family who gave him much joy. He recently relocated to a place he loved, Arizona. Originally from Chicago, Phill attended University of Illinois Chicago. He had an interesting and varied career in the fields of photography; and in the initial development of Fedex when it was still Federal Express—in delivery, sales, and as hazardous materials specialist; and later in the early days of information technology. He was self-taught and rose to positions of Systems Analyst and Network Administrator with Abbott Laboratories, from which he retired. Phill was proud of his Lithuanian heritage and enjoyed many hobbies and interests including photography, movies, travel, history, politics, computers, and was always first to implement technological advances. He was a prodigious reader and a lover of music from rock to classical. Phill thoroughly enjoyed life, had a witty sense of humor, and loved to laugh. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by so many. In lieu of flowers, donations to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) would be appreciated.
