Paul O. Philpot was born on April 19, 1935 to Theodore and Edith (Roberts) Philpot in Manchester, Kentucky. Paul was the oldest of four children. The family moved to Santa Barbara, CA where Paul graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1954 and then attended Woodbury College graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in International Trade. In 1958, Paul joined the army, serving in the Army Security Agency where he was stationed in Germany for most of his service. He was especially proud of his time in the service and loved to share stories from it. Paul’s oldest son Mark was born in Germany while he was stationed there. After returning to the states, he settled in Los Angeles area where his daughter Rhonda was born. After his time in the service, Paul had a successful career in the IT industry working for major corporations such as Aerospace Corporation, Hughes Tool Company, Transamerica Corporation and Ralphs Grocery. He transitioned into a consultant career forming Philpot and Associates working with the C-Suite at companies like Xerox Corporation, American Honda Motor and Disneyland.Paul married the love of his life, Gloria in December 1978. They made their home in Torrance, CA until they moved to Prescott, AZ in 1995. Paul was active in the local church and enjoyed leading bible study for many years. Always outgoing, Paul was happy to share his faith and love for the Lord with anyone he met.Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Theo and Edith Philpot, and his sister Bonnie Salerno. Paul is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gloria Philpot, his son Mark (Denise) and daughter Rhonda, grandchildren Kris (Lindsey), Matt (Chelsea), and Kellie (Chris), and his great-grandchildren Harrison and Harper Philpot. He is also survived by his stepsons Stephen and Allan Bacon, and his siblings Suzie Cascante and Charles (Diane) Philpot as well as many nieces and nephews.A Memorial Service for Paul will be held on Wednesday September 22nd , 10am at Ruffner-Wakelin Funeral Homes Prescott Chapel, 303 S. Cortez St. in Prescott with a Military committal service at 1pm at the Prescott National Cemetery.
