Patricia Marie Wakefield

Patricia Marie Wakefield, age 93, passed away on March 20, 2025 in Prescott Valley, AZ. She was born on March 17, 1932 in New Richland, MN, to Orin and Nellie (Anfinson) Rodahl. She was united in marriage to Gerald (Jerry) Wakefield on May 17, 1952 in Austin, MN. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran church when she lived in Austin. She worked as a legal secretary for many years for Mower County and for Hoverston and Strom.

Pat (or Patty) was a wonderful and loving mother to Rebecca Wakefield (Murray Johnson), David Wakefield (Gina Vermilyea), Robert Wakefield (Kirsten Snater), Kathleen Larson (Keith), and Mary Supergan (Bob), and cherished grandmother to Patrick and William Wakefield, Tyler Johnson, and Rachel and Christopher Supergan. Survivors also include her sister Karen Hanf of Burnsville, many nieces, nephews and cousins, and by her wonderful cat “Kitty” who will be looked after now by the Supergans. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 55 years Jerry Wakefield, and brother David Rodahl.

Throughout her life, Pat was known for her love and devotion for her family, for her encouragement to follow your heart, for her baking skills (especially homemade bread), for her sewing skills, for her fun-loving spirit, for her finesse at bridge, for her love of Agatha Christie, John Wayne, and old movies, and for her bursting into song on a whim regardless of where she was. She will be missed by all who knew her and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

An informal service for Pat will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin, MN, on Tuesday, July 1, at 10:00 am followed by lunch at a local restaurant.
