Nick Edward Brand, 62, died unexpectedly on May 15, 2012 at his apartment on Whitespar Road. He was born as Neal Brand Brandt on January 2, 1950 in , Dearborn, Michigan to Margaruite (Judge) Brandt and Edward Stanley Brandt who was born in Plock, Poland. Both of his parents predeceased him. Nick was a talented man who worked in several fields during his life. After being honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corp he worked in a number of difference spheres. In addition to being a fine artist, he was also an entertainer. As a singer, dancer and actor, he worked in California under the name Nick Blackrose. After he left the entertainment business he took classes in interior design. Nick was fond of animals, and after working as a designer he decided to study to become a veterinary assistant and worked for two years in San Diego, CA in a veterinary clinic. He and his wife Marilyn raised Great Danes. After moving to Arizona he studied real estate appraising and worked briefly as an appraiser before being injured in a serious accident that caused a lifelong aliment and effectively ended his working life. After moving to Prescott from Chino Valley, Nick lived for a period of time in the New Song Recovery Home where he became an ordained minister and was instrumental in teaching religious classes and preaching under the leadership of Pastor Randy England. Nick was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wayne Brandt, his uncles Patrick Judge, Frank Judge, Earl Judge, McWally Judge, Michael Judge and aunts Matilda, Thelma and Joan. Among survivors are Marilyn Dewart, one brother, Terrence Brandt of Dunedin, Florida; two sisters: Delonda Hartmann of Muncie Indiana, Judy Spolarich (Erving) of Carleton Michigan; nieces and nephews: Colleen King, Catherine Jewell and Raymond Spolarich of Monroe, Michigan, Josh Chapman Miller of Carleton, Michigan, Reverend Daniel Jarvis (wife Elaine) of Lovell Wyoming, Haven Kimmel Svara (John) of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Melinda Mullens (Wayne) of Mooreland, Indiana.
