Nancy Roberts Durning

Nancy Roberts Durning passed away in her daughter?s arms the morning of November 30, 2008 at her home in Prescott. She was 87 years old. Nancy was born March 24, 1921 in St. Louis, MO but grew up in Shelbyville, IL. She was the daughter of George & Mabel (Bivins) Roberts. She graduated from Mills College in Oakland, CA in 1942. Nancy married husband Richard Durning on August 14, 1948. They moved to Arizona in  1955. He precedes her in death. Together they had two beautiful daughters Anne and Tooey. Nancy was a homemaker and enjoyed playing golf and bridge. She was a member of the Antelope Hills Niners and was involved in many local bridge marathons. In past years, she was a volunteer for the girl scouts organization in Phoenix. She was proudest of her family and the love that they shared.   She is survived by daughters - Anne W. Durning of Laveen, AZ; Tooey D. Thorn of Prescott, AZ; son-in-law Stuart E. Thorn of Prescott, AZ; and many grand pets.     Memorial Service to be held in Prescott at a later date.
