Mary Ann Kropp

Mary Ann Kropp, 76, of Prescott, Arizona, went home to be with the Lord on October 31. Mary Ann was born Sept. 9, 1931 in Van Buren, Arkansas, to Arthur and Mildred Kenney. She grew up in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, graduating from Northside High School. While living in Ft. Smith, she met her husband, Clarence. Mary Ann definitely lived life to the fullest, with family and faith the most important parts. It is not an exaggeration to say she exhibited incredible warmth and love to every person she met. Mary Ann was a devoted Christian Scientist, serving the church in many capacities. In 1990, she became a full-time practitioner. Mary Ann was an avid traveler, venturing to such destinations as Africa, Russia and China. She also loved music, and especially enjoyed playing the piano. In recent years she frequently attended concerts of renowned organist Hector Olivera. For the better part of her life Mary Ann called Southern California home, first in Torrance, than later Anaheim and San Clemente. After raising a family, Mary Ann graduated with a degree in communications from Cal State Fullerton in 1975. She worked briefly for a daily newspaper in Fullerton, California, and later was on the staff of Woodbury University in Los Angeles. Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 57 years, Clarence; children, Keith Kropp of Ventura, California, and Jane Broome of Prescott, Arizona; son-in-law Michael Broome, of Prescott, Arizona; grandchildren Sarah and Eric Broome of Prescott, Arizona, sister, Nancy Bird and brother-in-law Murphy Bird of Milford, Delaware.
