Martin William Banks

Martin Banks passed away April 12, 2023, peacefully at Dignity Health Hospital in Prescott Valley, Az. surrounded by loved ones. Martin was born May 21, 1932, to Sol Benkowitz and Urla Lake in Detroit, Michigan. He is survived by his loving wife Marion Banks, sister Mary Zell, Brothers, William and Robert Banks, granddaughters Ashley Macy and Rianna Lambert, stepdaughters Linda Hanten, Sherry Petersen, Carol Fields, Rebecca Tate, Debra Rice, great-nephew Ken Ryder, 11 nieces and nephews, and many great grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.

Martin was preceded in death by this second wife Rosemary Banks, daughters Sandra and Shelly Moore, and his brother James Banks. Martin worked 31 years in the postal service and held two positions as postmaster. He worked for the Mayer, Az. postal service from 2000-2010 as a contract carrier. After his retirement he volunteered at YRMC from 2009 until his death at the age of 91. Many will remember him for his humor and quick wit and like Frank Sinatra, Martin always did it his way. He will be greatly missed.

Services will be held May 20th, 2023, at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 3950 N. Valorie Dr. Prescott Valley, Az. 86314 at 2pm.
