Martin Ray Madsen

Martin Ray Madsen, age 51, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 19th. Martin was born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa as the youngest of three children. Martin graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 1984 with a Bachelors Degree in Business and Administration. In 1986 he earned his CPA title. He moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1986 where he met and married his wife Wendy in 1989. At the young, impressive age of 26, Martin started his own CPA firm specializing in financial aid audits for the Department of Education. Martin and Wendy worked together to make this business succeed and flourish for the next 10 years. Martin’s intelligence and determination and strong moral character were the foundations of his success. Following an early retirement, Martin moved to Prescott with his wife and daughter in 2004. Martin was a passionate Nebraska Cornhusker football fan throughout his entire life. He had not missed a live broadcast in 30+ years. Additionally, Martin greatly enjoyed music, hiking, exercising, waterskiing, reading and quality time with his family. Last but not least, Martin was a spirit-filled man of great faith who spent much of his time striving always to be a better person in every aspect of his life. He was especially intent upon being the best father he could be to his only sweet child, whom he adored. Martin had a quick-witted nature that most assuredly would light up any room. He was always willing to listen and lend a helping hand. He touched many lives with his kindness and compassion. He will be greatly missed by many. Martin is survived by his wife Wendy, his daughter Angelysse, and his sister RoJean, his father Roger Madsen, along with other extended family reside outside of Arizona. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 30th at 6:30pm at Sacred Heart Catholic church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Life Teen youth ministry at Sacred Heart church.
