Martin 'Marty' Steven Novak

Martin Steven Novak was born in Cleveland, Ohio December 1st, 1934. He passed away at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona on September 19th, 2012. He moved to Arizona from California in 2005. He was a true patriot who loved his country, his horses, and Arizona. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a master carpenter, musician, and a lifelong animal lover. He was a lifetime member of Orange Grove Masonic Lodge #293 F. & A.M. in Orange, California and also Aztlan Lodge #1 in Prescott, Arizona. Martin also belonged to the El Bekal Shrine Temple in California, the Moose Lodge, and American Legion Post #6 in Prescott, Arizona. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn; his brother, James R. Novak Sr (Paula) of NV; his sister-in-law Nancy Novak; his daughters, Kathleen Cranston of TN, Amanda Whatley (Joshua) of NC, Mary Kathryn Webb (Todd) of OK; his son, Elliot Novak (Tina) of CA; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Martin L. Novak, his mother Mary E. Novak (Glavich), his brother Steven J. Novak, and his two sons Marty Dean Novak and Rory Alan Novak. His cremated remains will be laid to rest in the columbarium at the Prescott National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to contribute can make a donation in Marty’s name at www.semperfifund.org whose mission is to help service members and their families in times of need. Marty lived 77 years, 9 months, and 18 days.

Cemetery:
Friday, September 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. with military honors from the Marine Corps and the American Legion Post 6.
