Martin Lawrence Brim (Marty)

November 9, 1951 – July 20, 2023

Martin Lawrence Brim (Marty to his friends and family), passed away on July 20, 2023, in Prescott, Arizona at the age of 71. Marty is survived by his wife, Dawn Kuter Brim, and two sisters, Judy Brim, Nancy Brim (Isaac Palivathukal) and one nephew, Coby Brim Palivathukal.

Marty was born in Evanston, Illinois, on November 9th, 1951, to Sonya and Norman Brim. At the age of 5, his family moved from Morton Grove, IL, to New York. After six years there, the Brim family moved to Phoenix, AZ, where Marty lived until he finished his BA degree at Arizona State University. After a number of years in Phoenix, Marty relocated to Cordes Lakes, Arizona, a small community several hours north of Phoenix, where he lived the rest of his life. He married Dawn Kuter on August 17, 2013.

Marty had many interests and careers: some of them were purchasing and selling Indian Jewelry, collecting Kachina dolls, teaching his cockatiel, Junior, to talk, and playing the guitar. For many years, Marty was an avid hiker; he especially loved hiking through the Grand Canyon, which he did a number of times.

In addition to his wife and sisters, Marty leaves behind him many, many good friends from all over the country; he loved traveling and socializing with them.

A Celebration of Life party for Marty will be held on Friday, July 28th at 2:00pm at 20572 E. Yucca Drive, Cordes Lakes, AZ 86333.
