Mark Timothy Dolan

Mark Timothy Dolan, 71, passed away on Sunday, January 10 2021. Born in Buffalo, NY on July 10, 1949 to Donald and Mary Dolan, he was the third son of eight children. Mark grew up in Wayland, NY and at the age of 15, traveled to Los Angeles to stay with his uncle, James Lynch. He fell in love with L.A. and decided to make his life there. After graduating from California State University-Los Angeles with a Bachelor's Degree in English, Mark considered attending law school but instead decided to start his property management career with the Charles Dunn Company. After several years, Mark was heading up Dunn's residential management division and decided to venture out to start a new company with his partner, Gilbert Knight. Dolan & Knight Property Management was founded in 1979 and continues to operate today. Mark married Maureen Shaw in 1978 and they welcomed three sons: Erin, Andrew and Jon Anthony. Mark instilled a strong work ethic in his children and always expected them to try hard and succeed at whatever they attempted. Mark loved taking the boys on summer vacations to the Flathead Lake, Montana area. He always cherished the memories of fishing, golfing and traveling around the area to places like Glacier Park. He loved it so much that he requested that his ashes be spread on the lake, which will be done later this summer. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, entrepreneurship, and making a good life for himself and his family, which his surviving sons will work hard to continue for their families. Mark is survived by his sons Erin and Jon Anthony and his granddaughter Ava. He will be greatly missed by his family- we love you, Dad.
