Marjorie V. Webster, 92, of Prescott, Arizona died Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Peaceful Valley Care Home. She was born in 1921, to J. Carl and Violet (Tate) Smith in Cincinnati, Ohio. She married Robert V. Webster in 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and he preceded her in death in 1968. Marjorie was a member of the Prescott United Methodist Church. She graduated from Danville High school, Danville, Kentucky, attended Centre College in Danville before receiving her B.A. degree from the University of Cincinnati. Marjorie and Bob raised four sons who survive her. During the years in which the boys were young, the family lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, Upper Arlington, Ohio and Bay Village, Ohio. As a family they enjoyed vacations to Maine and Florida. Following Bob’s death in 1968, Marjorie decided to move from Ohio to Prescott, Arizona in 1971. Marjorie retired from the Yavapai College where she worked in the library. She enjoyed her 43 years in Prescott with many years living in the Willow Lake area with her father Carl. She considered Prescott her “home town.” Marjorie was a prolific reader and she loved visits from her children and their families over the years. She traveled to Hawaii, Japan, Washington, Alaska, and New Jersey to visit her son's in the service. Marjorie was an animal lover with a special fondness for dogs. Marjorie is survived by her sons Dain (Miki) Webster of Mill Creek, Washington; Robert Bruce Webster of Phoenix; Steven (Sharon) Webster of Wauseon, Ohio; and Daniel (Margaret Lamont) Webster of Boulder, Colorado; along with five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a special cousin, Carson Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Violet Smith; her husband Robert Webster; an infant sister Jacquline Arden Smith, and close cousins Paul and Madge Chidlaw. Marjorie has left behind many friends from her years living at the Good Samaritan Village in Prescott, and she appreciated the care received and friendships made at the Peaceful Valley Care Center the last year of her life. A special thanks to Tammy, Jessie, and Kim for their companionship the past 15 months. A memorial service will be held in the future.
