Marion L. Fritz

Marion L. ?Fritz? Fritz, 80, died Friday, April 8, 2005 at his home in Prescott Valley, Arizona.  As the evening came to a close, in the shadows the angels came to take him into the loving embrace of his God, leaving behind his pain and suffering.   Son of John F. Fritz and Frances Fritz, immigrant Polish parents, who passed on to him and his siblings a proud heritage. Born in Chicago, educated in the Catholic schools.   Proudly served in the United States Navy for three years during World War II on board the USS Bogue CVE9, whose crew sunk 12 Nazi submarines in the North Atlantic and one Japanese submarine in the Pacific.   Leaving Chicago in 1960 he went to California, and for the next 22 years drove an eighteen wheeler as a real ?King of the Road?. He loved the sound of the jake brake, that diesel engine, and always gave the air horn to the kids.   In 1965 he met the love of his life, a little Irish broad named Jonnie, married her four years later, and for the next 35 years they shared a love story envied by many.   A proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous for forty rears, the Knights of Columbus both third and fourth degree, and the American Legion. A real baseball fan who could name all the old and new players of every team in the Al and NL leagues. He danced every dance especially when they were Polkas, and best of all he walked like he talked.   Survivors include his wife Jonnie, a daughter Bonita of Chicago, six grandsons. Many nieces and nephews, not to mention many, many young married couples who came into his life as his adopted sons and daughters, by their choice and showered him with love. Life long friends in the Carlisi family. His AA sponsor of 43 years, Doug P.   STO LOT My little Ragamuffin
