Marilue Pauline 'Polly' Baca Flores

Marilue Pauline “Polly” Baca Flores, born June 29, 1938 in Springerville, AZ, left to live with the lord on August 31, 2013 in Prescott, AZ. Marilue lived in many towns in AZ including Ashfork, Concho, Phoenix, Chino Valley, Williams, and Flagstaff, and also many towns in CA including Oxnard and El Rio. Marilue was a god fearing lady, a generous, kind, jolly woman, a wonderful loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. When young children came around she always had a dollar for them. She was always ready and willing to help others at a moment’s notice. Marilue helped wherever she could including translating if there was a communication barrier, taking someone to the store, or driving someone to a doctors’ appointment. She always made sure visitors left with a full belly, she wouldn’t take no for an answer, and sent everyone home with a thoughtful trinket she thought they might like or use. Marilue enjoyed playing bingo, many times she traveled to Laughlin to enjoy the thrill of the game. She loved cared for her family most of all her most precious gift her son “Tweety darling” and her daughter “Baby Darling”. Every night before falling asleep she would pray and name off all her family and friends sending a blessing that all would be safe and protected by god. She loved sharing stories of her childhood and telling jokes and teaching songs. Nothing could bring Marilue down, she was a happy woman who loved and trusted that god would take care of all her needs. Marilue was preceded in death by her mother Adelina Barreras Baca, her father C.J. Baca, her sisters Oralia Boca Metzgar, Rosalie Baca Rivera, Dyana Baca Heydorn, and Terry Baca White, her brothers Liberto Baca, Clarence Baca and Felix Baca, her niece Irma Flores and her nephews Garyu Metzgar and Johnny Baca Flores. Marilue is survived by her son Leonard Flores, Sister-in-law Natalie Flores her daughter Sandra (Ernesto) Nava, her grandsons Vincente Flores, Johnny Flores and Steven Flores, her great granddaughters, Ashlyn Flores, Khloe Flores, Lily Flores, her sister Jenny (Roger)Baca Robler , her nephews Lincoln, Henry, Jesse, Joe, Joey, and Danny, her nieces Yolanda, Sharon, Ruby, Crystal Elaine, Michelle, Toni, Janice, Crystal and Carol and many, many, second and third generation nieces and nephews. She would sing a hymn that said “We shall meet on that wonderful shore, sweet by and by” so one day we hope to be reunited with her and all our loved ones in heaven remember she will only be one thought away and remains in our hearts always.
