Mariella G. Covey

Mitzie G. Covey, beloved mother and grandmother passed away September 18, 2008 in Prescott, Arizona. She was 88 years old. Mitzie was born in Jackson Heights, New York to Herbert and Mary Gould. She married her soul mate Richard Covey on May 23, 1941 and they shared 66 joyful years until Rich?s passing in September of 2007.  The family moved from Iowa, the Covey ancestral state, in 1959, and Rich and Mitzie lived in Arizona and California from then on. Mitzie was a member of The Prescott Art Docents, The Phoenix Art Museum, and Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, theater, travel, and entertaining. Mitzie was proudest of her family and is survived by her son?s and their spouses, Richard & Sue Covey of Prescott, AZ, Stephen & Dana Covey of Cedar City, Utah, and Robert & Karla Covey of Bethesda, Maryland. She leaves grandchildren- Mindy, Rich, Jenny, Josh, Sara, Alexis, and  Charles, and great-grandchildren-Luke, Laura, Jackson and Makenna.
