Marian Estelle Webster

Marian was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Brooklyn, New York. In 1943, she married her first husband, which lasted 23 ½ years when he passed away in 1966. In the summer of 1967, she met her current husband Harry and were wed on December 15, 1967. They were married in the same church where they met, St. Andrews in Glendale. Harry and Marian have been married for 51 years.   She was employed by the General Electric Company and then Honeywell Co. She retired from Honeywell in 1982. She and Harry then moved to Maine to care for Harry’s aging father until he passed in 1987. She remained there for 22 years. While there she joined the alter guild of Trinity Church in Castine, Maine and was a member of that organization until she returned to Arizona.   During the stay in Maine, she became an avid Barbie doll collector and won numerous awards for displaying her dolls at local doll shows. At the end of 2004, she returned to Arizona and took up residence in Prescott Valley with her husband. This is what her youngest son Bob desired at that time simply to keep an eye on his parents which he did very well.   About the middle of 2004, she became a member of the Red Hat Society, Grape Nuts Chapter which had monthly meetings in local restaurants which she enjoyed greatly. In 2013 she was diagnosed with lung cancer where chemo treatments affected her ability to walk. Because of that effect, it was her decision to not take any further treatments in favor of quality of life. That gave her six years of additional pleasant life.   Once in Prescott Valley, she became a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and attended it regularly as long as she could. With her passing, she leaves behind her loving husband, Harry, her loving son, Ted and her son, Bob, who, unfortunately has been in a nursing home in Phoenix for two and one half years.   A Memorial of Life service will be on Friday September 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church 2000 Shepherds Ln, Prescott, AZ 86301.
