On Sept. 5, 2012, Margaret Woodruff died at the age of 85 in her home in Prescott, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and is survived by her three children, Ann Woodruff, Scott Woodruff and Ellen Benson; her grandchildren Elizabeth Wederski and Josh Benson; and her great-grandson, Grayson Wederski. Margaret was born on Jan. 24, 1927, to Lyman Dixon and Mildred Judson in Chicago, Ill. She attended Oak Park High School and graduated from DePauw University in 1948, and soon became an elementary school teacher. She married Bob on June 10, 1950, and they relocated to Denver, Colo., where they lived and raised their family before moving to Prescott in 1983. Since 1997, Margaret dealt with the paralysis of a stroke with both courage and dignity. Margaret's accomplishments are many; she was well-read, took great pride in being a life master in duplicate bridge, a deacon and elder at a local church, a world traveler, and a wonderful cook - but always considered her children as her greatest achievement. Her love for genealogy clearly indicated how much family meant to her, and her entire life she was the nucleus of a tight-knit family who loved her very much. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched and changed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Good Samaritan Society, 1065 Ruth St., Prescott, AZ 86301.
