Lona Stalker

Lona Stalker of Prescott, AZ passed away peacefully on April 8, 2022, with family around her. She is pre-deceased by husband Vernon (Bud) Stalker and daughter Mary VanBuskirk. She is survived by five sons and two daughters: Mike and Mark Stalker of Springfield MO. Greg Stalker and Janis Smith of Prescott Valley, AZ. Jim and John Stalker of Flagstaff, AZ and Ann Baumgartner of Oroville, CA. She is survived by 54 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Lona was born on April 2, 1928, in Mauri Switzerland to Hans and Josephine Frey. She was married to Vernon Stalker on November 10, 1946. Besides being a home maker, she provided in home daycare for many years. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and volunteered at Saint Eugene’s church and school in Santa Rosa, CA. Lona later moved to Chico, CA and attended Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church where she was very active in pro-life ministries. Family gatherings, sewing and homemaking were the joy of her life. Viewing, Rosary, and Mass scheduled on April 28, 2022, at St. Germaine Catholic Church, Prescott Valley, AZ.
Interment will take place at Glen Oaks Cemetery in Chico, CA on Monday May 9th at 11:00AM, Fr. Francisco Hernandez presiding.
