Leslie aged 91 passed away December 28, 2010. He was born February 3, 1919 in Muskegon, Michigan to Jay Ford and Mary Griffin Ford. Leslie was raised in Harrison, Michigan where he met and married Virginia Ladd his childhood sweetheart. He served his country proudly as a Quartermaster in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He later served 30 years with the State of Michigan penal system. He began his career as a guard at the Ionia Reformatory and advanced through the ranks to Assistant Warden and ultimately a Parole Officer. Upon retirement in 1976 he moved to Prescott Valley where he lived for 34 years.
He is survived by two children Barbara Diane Spicer of Lyons, Michigan and Terrance Jay Ford of Prescott Valley, Arizona; four grandchildren, Scott Spicer, Jeff Spicer, Raymond Ford, and Tamara Lieben; eight great-grandchildren, David Spicer, Megan Spicer, Jordan Spicer, Josh Spicer, Samantha Spicer, Michael Gonzales, Michelle Tingler, Nickki Clothey and Emma Ford as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was greatly loved and will be missed very much.
