Lee D. Goldstein, 85, passed away at home April 7, 2017, with his loving wife Ellen by his side, in Prescott, Arizona.

Lee was born in Chicago to Moe and Charlotte Goldstein. He grew up in Winnetka, Illinois. When Lee was a teenager he had a diving accident and thereafter lived an amazing, successful life using a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

After graduating from UCLA, he worked for Litton Industries in Beverly Hills and Rand Corporation in Santa Monica, Calif. Eventually Lee went into business for himself; his endeavors with retail were successful and something he loved doing. He said every day going to work was a joy. His children know this.

The stories they told about what he would at times bring into the home in Malibu, such as the antique barber's chair complete with full-sized wooden figure sitting in it. That scared away a housekeeper who left and never came back.

Lee was very social and has many wonderful friends and family across the country who will miss him. You all know who you are! Lee loved his family and friends; nobody was a stranger to Lee.

A Celebration of Lee's Life will be held at a later date.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; his first dear wife, Marilyn Link Goldstein; and his beloved sisters, Irene Schultz and Dulcy Steinlauf.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years, Ellen Goldstein, of Prescott; his sons, Tim Goldstein (Maria), Christopher Goldstein (Teresa), Meo Goldstein (Katia); his stepdaughter, Lauren Edwards (Travis); and daughters Linda Gully (Lamont) and Karen Goldstein; grandchildren Annie, Cassandra (Dan), Taylor (Noah), Debbie, Kingston, Freddie, Leoni and Mark Anthony; great-grandchildren Madison, Gabriel, Lorelei, Hadley, and more on the way.

Lee wrote a book of his life. This could be inspiration for those with spinal cord injuries and others. It's a book of perseverance and living life to the fullest to the best of one's ability. It's available through Amazon and the publisher, Untreed Reads, at untreedreads.com.

Ellen would like to thank Prescott's Good Samaritan Hospice Home Care and Marley House for care extended to Lee.
