On December 18, 2020, Lawrence Lee Glaske's journey came to an end. Lee was born on July 7, 1937 in Hillsboro, Oregon. He grew up on a dairy farm where hard work was the norm. However, Lee did find time to build an airplane out of surplus airplane parts. At age 14, Lee took off in his airplane flying from the farm to the Hillsboro airport. The flight instructor was so impressed with Lee's ability that he gave Lee free instructions to get his pilot's license. Also, Lee found time to play football at Hill High. Lee and his teammates won first in state his senior year. Lee won first in state on the debate team at Hill High as well. No one could win an argument with Lee! Lee should have been and attorney, but instead went to the University of San Francisco. He worked his way through college playing banjo at the Hungry Eye plus received scholarships. After three years of going to college straight through the Summer, Lee earned a Doctorate of Mortuary Science. Lee returned to Hillsboro after college and built Glaske Chapel in Beaverton, Oregon. After several years of working 24/7, Lee decided to change careers and worked for several companies building hotels in Hawaii and Tahiti and homes in Beaverton, Oregon. In the middle seventies, Lee started his own construction company and built residential homes and commercial buildings in the Portland , Oregon area. In January of 1977, Lee married Diane Grimland whom he called "Dion". Lee and Dion lived on Lee's ranch and had fun times with family and friends. In 1983, Lee and Dion made a ski trip to Sun Valley, Idaho. Lee immediately fell in love with this beautiful area and they moved there. Lee built a home and spent a Winter being a ski bum. After a fun Winter, Lee was ready to get back to work so he built another custom home as well as commercial buildings. After seeing a need for a local dealer for what Lee referred to as "toys for the boys", Lee bought a Yamaha franchise plus several other franchises and built another commercial building. Now, Lee was in the business of selling and servicing snowmobiles, snowblowers, chain saws, lawn mowers and motorcycles. Also, Lee was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church in Ketchum, Idaho where he was head of the budget and finance committee. In 1995, Lee and Dion moved to La Quinta, California where Lee built more homes there and in Big Bear, California. Lee and Dion enjoyed 11 wonderful years in this resort area on Lake La Quinta before moving to Prescott, Arizona. Lee is survived by his wife-Dion/ Diane Glaske and his sister-Darlene Hall. Lee was proceeded in death by his sister-Donna Chapman and brother-Neal R. Glaske.
