Laverne Miller -Mickey Marcum was born in Pitkin, Louisiana on July 17,1920. Mickey died in her sleep of natural causes on September 13, 2010. She was 90 years old. She is survived by sons and daughters- in -law Lance and Pam; Rick and Peggy; grandchildren Corynn, Camron, and Hannah. She has four great grandchildren, and friends all over the world. She attended LSU in the late 1930s, and went to work as a civilian employee for the Army Air Corps in 1942. She met Everette Marc Marcum in 1946, and they were married that same year. Marcs Air Force career took them all over the U.S. and Europe. They lived in Germany; Italy; California; Washington D.C.; Virginia; Colorado; Alabama; the Netherlands; and Arizona. During her life, Mickey entertained and rubbed shoulders with Royalty, Astronauts, Generals, movie stars, diplomats, and Industry tycoons. She was well respected by all, and lived an honorable life of quiet grace and dignity. She was always kind, generous, and compassionate. She will be missed. A memorial service will be held in Prescott on November 6, 2010, and burial will be with Marc at Arlington National Cemetery in the Spring of 2011.
