Larry Gene Lane 69, of Prescott Valley, died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Larry served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam era and was honorably discharged in July 1965. After serving his country Larry met and married the love of his life; Joan Cecelia Johnson on February 10, 1968. Larry worked in Local 75 of the Steel and Ironworkers in Arizona for 25 years. Larry loved ice hockey, having his picture taken with the Stanley Cup, he also enjoyed camping with his fifth wheel camper. He was proud of his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Larry is survived by his loving and caring wife; Joan of 44 years, his daughter Shannon (Michael) Kocher of Mesa, AZ; son, Kevin of Prescott Valley, also surviving is his mother Loreen Lane of Puryallup, WA, and his sister, Cathy Swanson of Seattle, WA. Two granddaughters; Sarah and Katherine. He was predeceased by his father, Eugene, and two brothers; Randy and David. A celebration of Larry’s life Niche side service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2012 at Prescott National Cemetery in Prescott, AZ with full military honors. A reception will follow at Larry’s home.
